Tata Motors, India’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, has announced plans to commence production of hydrogen-powered buses at its Lucknow facility, marking a key step in its clean mobility strategy.
The announcement was made by Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran during an event attended by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, which also marked the rollout of the 10-lakhth vehicle from the plant.
Chandrasekaran stated that the facility will be used to manufacture both hydrogen fuel cell buses and hydrogen internal combustion engine (ICE) buses, highlighting the company’s focus on developing sustainable solutions for long-distance transportation in India.
